Whether you clay pigeon shooting on a regular basis, whatever your capabilities are, or if you are trying clay pigeon shooting for the first time we have something for everyone!

Including the rules and regulation, safety in handling a firearm and general protocol. Here at Les Royautes we use the most advanced clay pigeon machine, and we hope to expand on our selection of machines in the near future.

PULL”! The clay shoots into the air simulating the flight path of a real bird. Take aim and fire! Experience the adrenaline when you feel the recoil of the gun and see that clay burst into a thousand tiny pieces. To add to your the experience, clays can be launched to replicate the path a rabbit or hare may take across the ground.

Once you have mastered the basics, and your a self confessed ‘semi pro’ your session will be based around your shooting ability, so that you can use the time effectively to brush up on your techniques and improve yours skills further. Bit of a crack shot? We can still deliver a challenge. If your feeling very adventurous we can set the machine to fire at random. What direction the clay goes? No body knows!

You will loaned a 12 gauge, under and over, double barrel shot gun. Protective glasses, ear protection. You will also receive the exact amount of cartridges, depending on the tariff you choose.

The discipline at Les Royautes is “down the line”. The basic principles are,

- Five people stand in an arc 15m behind the clay pigeon machine which is housed in the “fosse” beneath the ground.

- The first participant calls “pull”, when they clay is in sight, they fire. If they miss with their first round, they fire their second round.

- Once they have fired both rounds (depending if they killed with the first shot!) the next participant follows the same routine.

- This continues until all five participants have shot.

- The fifth and last participant then moves from his position (gun unloaded) to position one and in turn all the participant move along one position.

- The shooting recommence at the second and new positions. This rotation continues until all the positions have been shot from, by all participants. This is called a series.

- You score a point on a first shot kill and half a point on a second shot kill, no points for no kills. Sometime the clay shatters as it comes out of the launcher this is referred to as a “no bird”
