| Golf, although I have
never played it I can see the attraction. Being outside with friends
making fun of each others bad shots, hooking and slicing, giving each
other tips on how to improve your game and theirs, maybe a small wager
on the side then off to the 19th hole, the bar for those of you like
me that have not played golf before. Although we have no golf facility
here at Les Royautes, we do have golf links nearby. One is in Nevers,
about 45 minutes from us, and is the municipal golf course “
Golf du Nivernais”. It’s an 18 hole, Par 71 course. They
have a driving range with 10 covered tees, for some practice maybe,
before you go on the course. It also has a 5 hole course for lessons,
instruction for all standards of players, a pro shop and an on site
restaurant.
The green fee is about 30€ a round. They don’t
have a web site but I have it on good authority, “ it’s
a very nice set up”. We have leaflets here and I would be pleased

The other course is an hour and a half away in Sancerre.
Hey, good golf and good wine in the same place what more can you ask
for? Golf du Sancerrois is also a 18 hole, par 71, 5820m course. Set
in the rolling slopes of the Loire Valley with the back drop of the
Sancerre hill. Facilities include, 6 hole practice course,800m2 putting
green,Pitching green and bunkers,Driving range with 10 covered tees,Club
house, changing room, toilets, showers, pro-shop, restaurant/bar and
seminar facilities.
